Rare FlyerTalker Posted July 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2017 Supply and demand? Marketing strategy? Fighting established competition? Why does one gas station charge less than the station down the block? FWIW, LATAM is the new airline formed by the merger of LAN and TAM. Currently the largest in South America, with hubs in Santiago, Lima, Sao Paulo and Bogota. Member of OneWorld alliance. Solid airline.
Nebr.cruiser Posted July 10, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Good to hear it is solid. I didn't realize it was a merger of LAN and TAM. Just didn't want to get stuck again on one of the off-brand budget-for-a-reason airlines. Saving money is great, to a point..... And I do realize that some of the lesser known airlines are excellent and that all have their strengths and weaknesses.
