1st time cruisers, suggestions please snorkeling on Grand Cayman, and Costa Maya ???

Recommended Posts

1st time cruisers, going on RC in March Freedom of the Seas, we love to snorkel and looking for suggestions where we can go on our own to snorkel, not interested in the ship excursions want to do freestyle. Trying to make Grand Cayman and Cozumel stops beach days/ snorkeling days. So looking for reasonable proximity to ship, not necessarily walking distance but not an hour away, etc.....any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jim, Kelly, Madie and Mack

We used Dexter for the Caymans

Dexter picked us up right in port and drove us (20 min) to a marina where his catamaran is located. Super nice guy. Includes a trip to Sting Ray City (early before everyone else arrives) and then a stop for some snorkeling on the reef.

And we used Cozumel Sailing in Cozumel

This trip was an absolute blast. The crew was so much fun and supplied drinks and food. They let my dad reel in a fish they caught while sailing out to the snorkel location. Also stopped at a small beach where we were able to have a drink and relax. The best part of all... SPINNAKER rides!!! Once in a lifetime! So much fun.

Welcome to CC and you will love the Freedom!
