chanise Posted July 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2017 Hello Going to Lanzarote in September. Would love to visit the Manrique house and have been looking at a cruise line excursion including also the caves -Jameos del Agua. Wondered if anyone's been to either? I believe the caves have lots of steps. Fairly fit otherwise but does anyone know if the caves have plenty handrails? Due to a weakness in knee would need these to feel stable and safe. Really want to see the house. Also I believe these are only a few miles from Arrecife? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Bobal Posted July 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2017 We've been to both as part of a land-based holiday. In my opinion the attractions in Lanzarote are some of the best designed and organised of anywhere we've been in the world (thanks to Manrique). There are lots of steps at the caves but all have handrails and there are places to sit on different levels if you need to rest. I would highly recommend doing the excursion and you're right, it's not far from Arrecife. Take a look on Trip Advisor for reviews of the caves and some pictures

LondonTowner Posted July 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2017 Personally, I would hire a car with CICAR and that way you can see a lot more than just James de Aguascalientes and Cesar Manrique's House. It is very easy driving in Lanzarote. Sent from my iPad using Forums
chanise Posted July 25, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Thank you. That's a good idea in hiring a car but have decided to book the ship's tour. Really looking forward to it and appreciate your reply.:)
tony@stanton19.freeserve. Posted August 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Cesar Manrique's house is wonderful as is the Jameo del Agua. Hopefully the tour will also take in the Cueva del Verde with its secret surprise at the end. The whole tour is a wonderful experience. Make sure you take your camera.
