Public Beach

Hat anyone been to the public Beach that is free in Progresso? We went with auto progresso to the technotel (so?) And it was not my cup of tea. Ok food, small pool, watered down drinks, and dirty beach.

We have went to the public beach, the water is not clear blue- it is a little murky and the sand is somewhat rocky. We got there early before all the vendors and had a good time. By noon there are vendors up and down the beach trying to earn a living. Some people find them annoying. There are a lot of small bars along the beach that provide good service and free beach chairs but make sure you understand what you are buying. I have heard of some people being overcharged.

 

But all in all we had a good time.

The hawkers are really annoying at the public beach. Try walking down further away from the crowds

The beach is nothing special in Progreso - murky as sand churned up. Good enough for a quick play in the small waves tho :)
