Carnival Elation or Victory?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello All!

I am looking for opinions on these two ships and which one is the better choice as they are similar in price.

The Victory is doing a three night overnight in Nassau and the Elation is doing a four night to Nassau and Freeport.

I am traveling with my family, my boyfriend and his family. Ages range from 30's - 60's and we all like to have a good time.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Victory is better ship IMHO because it has the balconies I like. Elation is offering the better cruise because it's longer. Both will be one giant party in all likelihood so everyone will have a good time!

I have not been on Elation, but Victory is a fine ship. My honeymoon/first cruise was on Victory and I was more than happy with the ship.

An overnight in Nassau would be something I have never done, but I imagine it might have a cool night-life, if you and your party want that. I would not be surprised if the casino on board the ship was closed that entire time (if that matters to you or your group).

A slightly longer cruise is probably more desirable in my opinion. You still visit Nassau. Keep in mind that Freeport is more of an industrial (not tourist) port. If you do want to do a beach or something beyond getting a few drinks or shopping in a small cruise ship area in Freeport, you WILL want to book an excursion. Just something to keep in mind. :)

It all depends on what you and your fellow travelers want. Either way, you will have a great time!

We are going on our second cruise on Victory last month. We went in 2011 and loved it. The crew was super friendly and there was plenty to do on board.

An extra night is usually good when you go to all the trouble to travel. However, that usually means a higher cost. Also we have special needs pets at home so that is another reason I chose a shorter cruise right now.
