ahracer Posted June 17, 2004 #76 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Jeez, I didn't know there was an oath to take. No wonder I;ve been missing out. Scott
DoniaG Posted June 17, 2004 #77 Share Posted June 17, 2004 Consider me taking the "swearing to" oath. However, I wish to retain my right to "swearing at"! jemingway Posted June 18, 2004 #81 Share Posted June 18, 2004 If this thread were combined with 2 or 3 others that are going about conduct, we will have the makings of an online constitution. Could someone please draft a poster's bill of rights? JV The 4 stages of cruising: planning, anticipation, experience and reflection.
imsulin Posted June 18, 2004 #82 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I think that there has already been a "Bill of Rights" posted. As long as it's a Princess "Bill of Rights", all is good...for those who drafted it. Just my "opinion". Dang! Someone must have put those birthday candles that will-not-be-extinguised into my undies, because the flames are still there...but are growing smaller by the minute. srphnx Posted June 19, 2004 #83 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Jemingway, The original drafting of the US constitution was really, really contentious, I think we should let the dust settle and see how things look in a few weeks. Most of us know what is and isn't appropriate, I am happy to let the sands of time work on the rough spots. mysweetlady Posted September 30, 2004 #84 Share Posted September 30, 2004 :) I am new to the posts. We will sail on Victory-Dec. 12. I have learned so much from these posts. I do agree with your ideas on being nice to everyone. Your site has been wonderful to me in regards to questions I have had on my cruise ship. I have found all the answers to my questions. The overall view of this site has been very positive for me. It is so much fun reading how nice you are to each other. Thank you for making me feel positive about my cruise. We have sailed on the CCL Paradise 2002 and RCL-Majesty in 1999. So looking forward to continued posts on all of the cruises. Thank you for allowing a newbie to express how nice you all have been in your posts. Keep up the good work for those of us who think--Did I make a mistake?? :)
prophotogirl Posted September 30, 2004 #85 Share Posted September 30, 2004 I'm glad this thread "came back from the dead". Is there anyway the very first post can be a sticky?
Salty Dawg Posted October 1, 2004 #86 Share Posted October 1, 2004 Wonderful Message by George Carlin (whose wife died recently): The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete. Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure that you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss & an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there any more. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

catmand Posted October 1, 2004 #88 Share Posted October 1, 2004 Leaving Saturday and thinking of the review when I get back this thread caught my eye. As soon as I saw the original date I thought who dug this old thing up and why? Then I began to read MySweetLady who said this in her last sentence................................................
