deanrob84 Posted September 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2017 Talk about stress for a wedding, try having a hurricane barrel down on your wedding day. I really wish this hurricane would decide what it is going to do already so plans can be made for family flying in. Luckily we are local and only a few are flying, but this state of uncertainty is maddening. We were supposed to do a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean, but it appears that option has faded into the oblivion. Now we are crossing our fingers that the eastern section isnt hit too hard so hopefully we may have somewhere to cruise to. If not, and you are on the ship, come find us at the bar because we will have fun on the ship and laugh our way through a really crazy situation. They say its good luck if it rains on your wedding day, so I guess we hit the lotto on that one. Hey it will be a great story to tell the kids one day...... lizzyplague Posted September 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2017 We know how you feel with the hurricane throwing your plans in limbo. Matthew forced us to cancel our cruise last year. Hopefully everything will work out for you!

Rare lazydayz Posted September 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2017 Best of luck to the both of you. Looks like worse case might be a delay. Royal just told upcoming Harmony cruisers the ship won't leave until Tuesday.

Rare kctwinmommy Posted September 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2017 Try not to worry about the things you can't change. I know it's easy for everyone to say, but many others have had things ruin their big day as well. We went to a wedding where a major storm came through and knocked out all the power. They had made the hors d'oeuvres already, so people were able to snack a bit. And then they could cook the dinner since it was all gas stoves, but there was no electricity. So no lights, music, air (it was the middle of August and hot!). Eventually, someone knew someone else and they were able to get some giant fans, a generator, and industrial lights delivered. The bride was near a breakdown at one point, but everybody talks about their wedding still! And here's a couple in Houston that didn't let it ruin them getting married. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/09/06/newlyweds-plan-wedding-just-24-hours-hurricane-harvey-ruins/ It's just not worth your health and well being to get too worried and upset about things you can't control. Be safe, keep your family safe, and celebrate again later if need be. Best wishes!
