Visa points question

We have 71,000 points... this is good enough for a 3 or 4 night cruise for two. Can you add people to these deals somehow? In other words, we would like to bring our son so can we just add and pay for him? I tried calling but their phones are obviously crazy with the storms.

You can book whatever 3 or 4 night cruise you like, in any stateroom category OV or better, with 2 or more guests. When you redeem the points, they will credit your cruise with an amount equal to the least expensive available OV at the time of the redemption. Note that if you booked a stateroom with a balcony and you are using a balcony discount, that discount cannot be combined with the "free" cruise redemption. So be sure to look at the straight $500 discount (for 50K points) to see if that might be better than the 50K point "free" cruise redemption.
