Sunshine / New York alcohol purchase from funshops

I understand if you purchase cheers out of the New York port it does not start until the second day. Does this also apply to purchasing a bottle of liquor from the fun shops for your cabin? I thought it would be in your room when you boarded, however in trying to order through the fun shops, delivery on the first day is not one of the options. The fun shop phone is either awfully busy or nobody is at work!

We just sailed the Sunshine out of NY in August and were told our liquor purchase would be delivered on Day 2 (guest services told us this when my husband inquired why it wasn't in our room when we boarded). However, to our surprise it was delivered around 5 pm on Day 1. Not sure why we got it early, hope you have the same luck!

Sounds good to me, did you order it online or over the phone? Online they want you to specify what day you want delivery and whether day or evening time frame. Thanks

Isn't 5 PM about when the Sunshine entered international waters? Doesn't that have something to do with it?

OK, you guys are talking about $100 bottle of liquor. When you say the"fun shops" I think of the discount liquor store with the $10 bottles of alcohol.

The Nanny State of New York doesn't allow you to purchase liquor from the fun shops either. Sucks, but it is what it is.
