Carnival Credit Card Question

No idea.

You could let your onboard charges get charged to your carnival credit card to get your double points. Then use the points towards a statement credit on your bill.

When you redeem for statement credit, see below

Redeem your FunPoints for statement credits toward all or a portion (in pre-determined increments) of your Carnival Cruise, a cruise on other World's Leading Cruise Lines or eligible airline and hotel purchases. Choose any qualifying purchase equal to or greater than $50, made within the last 180 days.

You get more bang for your buck if you just let your onboard charges go on the card THEN get a statement credit for points earned. I believe $100 costs you 12,500 points doing it ahead of time but only 10,000 points for a $100 statement credit. Plus as stated you'll get double points for those charges as well.
