Opinions wanted - Bday Cruise - Maybe B2B?

Hi.

I am not too worried about mainly seniors on the cruise. We have been doing 12 nights on Quantum in 2015 then Anthem the last few years late January and that is the demographic then too. We are among the youngest on the ship.

I did a Mediterranean cruise on serenade in 2012 with a friend of mine (girls cruise no husbands) and it was a lot of fun. It didn't go to Venice or Paris which I would like to see next time I get to Europe. My friend Cathy is also turning 50 next year so maybe I can convince her to do another girls cruise to Europe to celebrate both of our milestone birthdays. Her bday is September so we could go in between our birthdays.

Thank you

Have you checked out the celebrity silhouette itinerary for September 9, 2018? dream cruise. I love sea days. Southampton 14 night roundtrip to western med! [emoji2] maybe it will be offered for 2019. I would love to do it for our major bday.

Funny you say that. Yesterday I was definitely leaning that way.

Today I am leaning towards Celebrity since it is new (never sailed Celebrity before) and an itinerary I am excited about.

My mind will probably change again by this afternoon

Thank you

It was easier to quote this way! Happy birthday to you too Noreen! I realized I didn't include that in my long post after I sent it. I will try to remember to post back on this forum when I return from the Equinox to let you know what I think of Celebrity & the Trikes. If I forget, email me at mavenmed3@aol.com.

  • 5 months later...

Hi

My big bday is just around the corner (next month).

We are sticking with Celebrity Reflection but have upgraded to a Royal Suite when it became available.

My husband doesn’t like to fly and thinks a road trip will be fun so we are driving from northern NJ to Ft Lauderdale. We rented a truck for the drive down since we have our flight already booked to come home after the cruise.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback and let you know what the plans are

So the only perks you shared with being casino VIP are

1. Casino rates.... Since you already booked this I am going to assume cost wasn't a factor for you.

2. Free drinks in casino. You have a drink package so that's not an issue.

3. Ability to draw money from your sea pass card. Perhaps take double the cash you have spent on other longer cruises and load it on your seapass to play with or just play with the cash. I am not sure how the casino works.

Based on this my opinion would be stick with what you have, it's just one cruise w some nice perks...... The excursion you want, the room you want the entire cruise (less packing and starting over on side to side b2b and less worry of getting same room on Harmony) and free drink package.

Noreen, you will love the Royal Suite & all the perks that come with it. My DH & I had one in October on the Equinox.

We did do the evening Trike ride in Aruba, it was fun. Part of the ride did end up being in the dark though. A daytime ride would be my 1st choice.

Happy birthday, have a great cruise!
