Journeys cruise vs regular cruise

Other than the obvious length of cruise, there are normally a couple of "throwback" days when activities are held similar to those in the 90's. They might have frog racing, wooden horse racing, lecture series, a gala midnight buffet, etc.

If you're interested----here's a link to our partial transit of the Panama Canal earlier this year, just click on the blue title. Feel free to skip the "personal nonsense"----"throwback day" is from #265 on.

I've been on a few Journey cruises, and one of the main differences is the length of each "Journey". I was able to do a 10 day and 11 day B2B on the Glory as an escape from the new York winter.

The other main difference is the marketing and hype. Once on board, I couldn't tell what was different with the Journey cruise from a regular sailing.

Journey cruises have more ..

fly-on and lounge entertainers, they try to have live entertainment at every bar and lounge every night, and except for the Hasbro show different main theater shows every night

a few extra activities like adult arts & crafts each seaday and the Quest,

cultural programs and educational seminars like stellar navigation or improving photos with your phone,

local guest chef cooking demos and special menus in the MDR or specialty restaurants by that chef,

3 Elegant Evenings one of which is part of the 80's Throwback seaday caped by the Gala Midnight Buffet,

and more port or seadays.

Platinum+ cruisers tend to book most of the cabins on the Journey cruises, so no FttF is available for purchased priority status. Also some times activities are scheduled around the special events that are held specifically for them.
