You're out of luck. No easy soda or wine at EWR. The only possibility is to check the mall, but .... no one has reported being able to buy quantities of sodas there at a reasonable price
Rare mking8288 Posted October 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2017 Nope, not unless OP or someone else on the Roll Call staying there has a car ... nearby off North Av by EWR Airport on Rt. 1/9, there like 2 big 24/7 gas station by Burger King, and they have soda & bottled water - usually at good prices as something is always on sale. Before doing that, check your cruiseline's latest guidelines & rules about BYO soda (cans vs. bottles) ... in checked baggage and/or as carry-on items. We used to do that sailing out of Manhattan, before NCL changed their rules   Just a thought, would hotel's shuttle driver take a quick friendly detour & stop at one of the gas station for a pickup & wait ... a little $$ appreciation surely wouldn't hurt asking & if not too busy. There are gas station closer but 3 or 4 long blocks away and it's not wise to walk alongside the roadway in the industrial area with trucks & cars zipping by. 138east Posted October 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2017 No one has reported problems bringing soda on at Cape Liberty. Sh-h-h. Don't give them ideas. My understanding is that the Cape Liberty shuttle is shared with Country Inns, which means it's likely to be well utilized. Shuttles to Cape Liberty are scarce. Only four hotels in Newark and Elizabeth near the airport offer shuttles and based on all the posts here, they are popular. I wouldn't rely on the ability to tip the CL driver to make a soda stop. You would have a better chance of getting the airport shuttle driver to take a detour at a slack time.

138east Posted October 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2017 I wondered about asking the airport shuttle driver. It doesn't look like there is anything in the mall, but ... No one has yet come up with a soda solution for EWR that doesn't involve a transportation cost that could make the soda more expensive than on the ship. What kind of soda are you interested in? By the time we get there you should be able to buy it on Day 4 in San Juan.
merinski Posted October 5, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted October 5, 2017 It might be ok in San Juan , if we get there. We were just thinking that the hotel price for pop is probably still cheaper than on the ship, maybe will get some at the hotel & some in San Juan.:D BTW Pepsi
