navybaby1113 Posted October 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2017 What kind of equipment do the gyms have? I'm hoping there are some kind of weights and not just treadmills and stuff.

cruise_everywhere Posted October 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Free weights, weight machines, cardio - they pretty much have it all. They also offer many classes ranging from starter to experienced.

navybaby1113 Posted October 17, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Thank you everyone for your help! I've never really been in the gyms on the ships, so I was expecting something much smaller. Are the gyms typically crowded? I'm assuming not, but just curious. leen50 Posted October 17, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2017 You rock! And thank you very much. :-) You are welcome. As far as crowds it depends on time of day, port vs. sea days, age of crowd etc. You should be fine.

Scurvy Seadog Posted October 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 17, 2017 I hit the topside track on my last 5 AM each morning on my last cruise and I had it completely to myself. :p

My hope is to get up early and go for a run on the track and then hit the gym for some weights. So that makes me happy. :)
navybaby1113 Posted October 18, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted October 18, 2017 I've done two reviews on carnival ships in my signature below....The Breeze and the Glory...we are bodybuilders and found both gyms effective I'll check them out. Thank you!
cruise_everywhere Posted October 18, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 18, 2017 The first morning after you board will be the busiest day of the entire cruise - It's really quite funny how many people drop off day by day as the cruise goes on. The last day before debark there will be no-one there.
lohgan Posted October 19, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I'm going to piggyback off of this post if that's okay instead of starting a new one. As for the workout classes - are these in the Fun Times? Going on my first cruise in January and looking forward to staying active but interested in knowing what classes they have and how to find them. tarabonnie Posted October 19, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 19, 2017 The list of classes will be in the gym. They have sheets to sign up for participation. The gym is definitely most crowded the first full sea day, and then the number of people decline steadily.
