azmaui Posted October 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2017 Hi! I've never sailed Princess and are considering it for New Year's eve cruise from LA to Mexico (also looking at NCL Star and Carnival Miracle). It will be grandparents, mom (me) and 2 kids (6 and 8 years old). I am wondering how is Ruby for kids, their kids club and if it will be family friendly cruise? Or more of a senior atmosphere? How are aboard activities? I would appreciate any advice! Thanks!

The kids would enjoy the kid clubs although I am not sure if they would be in the same groups. There are standard age groups for the kids club, but on big holiday cruises, sometimes they mix them up a bit based on the ages on board. Plus, Princess is strict about keeping the kids in their assigned groups. We mostly cruise Princess and the kids have enjoyed that since they were very young. Princess is not a "party" atmosphere, and for the holidays you will see many families and lots of kids. Things do quiet down in the evenings. I love the Ruby, it's one of my favorite ships (We really like the SHARE by Curtis Stone restaurant, and you do not share your meal or table with others)
easyboy Posted October 16, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2017 My son and family were on a NE eve cruise in the Caribbean in ‘15. There were activities for his kids the same age as yours. I guess activities for that period are fleet-wide. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
