tcfila Posted December 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2005 I've heard from a few that this is the place to pick up some good lenses much cheaper than in the states. Does anyone have any experience? I'm going to be down there in March and instead of taking a bunch of lenses, I'd like to pick up a new toy or two. zqvol Posted December 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2005 I bought a nice digital last year at Royal Caribbean. I was also set to buy a new digital SLR, but the shop keeper convinced me that they are still too sensitive (a speck of dust on the sensor and you have trouble)(I have verified this to be true since I got home). Ended up with a a LUMIX by Panasonic with a Leica lens. What I am impressed with is the integrity of the salesman, not to mention that the price was pretty good. (Probably saved $200 MAYBE $250 over what I would have paid in the States by the time I add tax, and the memory card, etc). I would caution you to know prices before you go. Since there is no sales tax in the USVI if you match the price at home you still save 6 - 10%.
The Islander Posted December 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Royal Caribbean and Boolchands are the two larger camera stores - so check them both out. --Islander http://www.*****
