NYE cruise - cruise elegant nights

Is NYE on CCL always a "cruise elegant" night regardless of what night the CE nights actually are? For a 7 day cruise, do they still have the other two CE nights? or do they usually just move one of them to NYE?

We've only done a NYE cruise once.

It was a 7 day cruise on the Liberty many years ago out of Port Everglades and it was NOT cruise elegant. The only thing special was a midnight celebration on the Lido at midnight and dress for the evening was your normal non-elegant wear.

We embarked on Dec 31st last year, Carnival Magic out of Port Canaveral. It was not an elegant night.

This year, we embark on Dec 31st, Carnival Pride out of Baltimore, and I'd imagine it'll be the same. Luggage may not be delivered to all passengers in time for an early dining time.

They do not move the elegant night, last year it was cruise casual although some did dress elegant just for the night. This year we are on Vista departing on 12/30 and the elegant night just happened to coincide with NYE this year.
