Dunns River Falls transportation options

We would like to go have fun at Dunn's river falls, but don't want to be on time schedule for a tour for 1,5h. What would be our option to get there? Taxi maybe available? Anybody knows the cost? Would it be safe to rent a a car for a day?

I would not recommend renting a car , you're use to the road they.

It best to take a taxi, just talk with the driver and tell that person what you want to do for the day.

Anyway it is cheaper to take a taxi then to rent a car.

Don't rent a car.

 

If you do a taxi have them wait for you.

 

Personally I would do a tour.

We have booked a private driver tour and actually not going to Dunns but Blue Hole ......seems like that is a better option for us to avoid to crowds ;) thank you all for suggestions!
