kenevenpar Posted October 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2017 Dave's recent thread about dropping his camera made me wonder ... how many have insurance? I have a policy with Nationwide, separate from my homeowners, with my D500, D5500, 10-20,18-55,55-300,200-500, and my flashes for $56 per year. replacement cost. peety3 Posted October 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2017 We have a "Valuable Personal Property" coverage from USAA. VPP is for things like guns, jewelry, art, and cameras. It tends to be about 1.5%/year, full replacement cost, no deductible. I had a Minolta DSLR stolen in 2007, filed a claim, they asked for a URL to a local store selling the same thing or the current equivalent model, and I had a direct deposit into my account the next day for their selling price. I was really glad Ritz Camera was still around and selling at no discount...
