cruisefan2012 Posted November 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Does anyone have a crystal ball ? can you foresee Princess sending Majestic Princess back to Australia in late 2019 / early 2020 ? Does anyone know?... Thats when I would love to sail onboard from Sydney to New Zealand My biggest regret is cancelling a Dawn Princess - Sydney to New Zealand cruise
easyboy Posted November 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Anything is possible. You just have to monitor the schedules. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruisefan2012 Posted November 4, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 4, 2017 Anyone in the know now what forward bookings are like? Would bookings show whether a particular ship / itinerary is more popular then others? I know obviously people book cruises for anniversaries / birthdays etc - I`m wondering then if forward bookings prove that Majestic is seen to be popular in Australia would Princess think to send her there again? I would literally sell everything I own to visit Australia & New Zealand
fishywood Posted November 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2017 We know that Golden Princess will be transferring to P&O Australia in 2020. Other prognosticators have claimed that Ruby Princess will be redeployed to Australia almost year-round, presumably after spending Summer 2019 in Alaska. Freed up to do so by Royal Princess' transfer to the Pacific Coast. If this is true and Ruby spends all of Southern Hemisphere Spring/Summer/Fall Down Under, and Northern Hemisphere Summer in Alaska that would not bode well for Majestic to head back to Australia. But I'm just guessing along with everyone else. Your theory that demand in Australia will dictate deployments may be more applicable to Asia: first to be judged by Princess will likely be how profitable Majestic is in China where onboard spend is higher than most anywhere else. cruisefan2012 Posted November 4, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 4, 2017 I didnt know that about the Golden Princess - I`m on the sister ship Star Princess in May 2018 to Alaska from Vancouver. I`m also on Royal Princess in May 2019 from Los Angeles to Vancouver I guess I will just have to wait and see what Princess come out with !! PensFan1028 Posted November 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2017 We were planning on booking an Australian cruise for next year but once I did some research on the Majestic we decided to hold off until another ship does the itinerary. While the Majestic is new and a sister to the Regal and Royal, they have expanded the casino (which we do not attend), removed several bars and the night club (which we do attend regularly). The ship was designed to cater to a different crowd and because of that we decided to hold off. But to offer insight to your question... unless it performs poorly next year, there is a good chance it will repeat the same voyages 2019-2020.
