mr green Posted December 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2005 Does Statendam still have its card room, The Queen's Room as I recall, or is it now one of those 'Internet Cafes'? Thanks in advance for any help. john
Cruising Illini Posted December 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2005 On the Ryndam it was in the Queen's Room and very nice. It is a little hard to find but plenty of room. On some free/open times they also had the original room -- between the Explorations Cafe and the casino -- set up for cards also. We had very few sea days on our recent cruises so no organized lectures which allowed more tables for open bridge. Of course as a last resort we have even played at a table in the Lido or around the pool.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2005 Just did 20 days on the Ryndam which is the sister ship to the Statendam. The Queen's Room is now the card room. There are 10 tables in there. On our first segment there were a few mornings when the room was used for bridge instruction and several afternoons from 2 - 5 when unhosted was played. Never saw any tables set up in the library end of the Explorations Cafe (area between the cafe and casino) ever set up for card playing.
formercruisestaff Posted December 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 12, 2005 I always thought it'd be great to become a bridge instructor and get free cruises like that...Now all I need to do is learn how to play!
