Short Review Sapphire 12/3 to 12/10

Information and some of my opinions about the Sapphire Princess. The embrication was not good. Didn't start until one and there was a big mob of elite and platinum people trying to get on at the same time. We were near the front of the mob so were in our cabin by one thirty and all our luggage by two so that was good.

We booked guarantee and got a great mini-suite D422 with a excellent cabin steward. The balcony was not covered but wasn't a problem for us. Really enjoyed the large size. Found the ship very easy to get around on. Many of the different bars, lounges, etc. are on deck 7. The only out of the way thing was the international dinning room and you needed to go aft on any deck seven or above before going down to it on deck 6. (Some people had a hard time with that.)

We did any time dinning and made reservations for 4 days and then later for the last 3. Each dinning room had the same international menu plus one special. Pacific Moon: Sesame Tiger Prawn and Scallop Stir fry. Sante Fe: Tender Beef or Chicken Fajita's. Savoy: Double thick enter-cut pork chop. Vivaldi: Ossobuco alla Milanse. We ate in all but the Vivaldi and thought the food and service excellent.

Horizon court could be better organized but we never there during the busy times so was fine. I've seen the question about eggs. If you didn't see any of the types of eggs you wanted - just tell the guy and they would make a omelette or what ever.

Can't tell you about the ports as the only time we were off the ship was in Cabo to tender in to take pictures of the ship. Enjoyed the pools and spa while people were gone. Enjoyed the cruise, the crew and the many nice people that we met. Quacker (sorry it didn't turn out very short)

We were on the same cruise and agree with Quacker. We were in the 8:30AM group to disembark but were not called until 8:45 AM. We picked up our luggage, went thru customs and were outside at 9:15AM. We took a tour in Cabo so that we could catch an early tender (around 7:30AM) and I noticed some people on the tender that had numbered tender tickets ( non tour passengers).

Just wondering what the weather was like? Also, TonyT, what excursion did you take in Cabo, and is it one you would recommend?

Thanks for the review of your Sapphire trip, Quacker. How did you make your Anytime dinner reservations?

Please post any other recommendations/hints that come to mind!

Thank you!

We made dinner reservations as soon as we got to the cabin. Instructions in the cabin but it's just pick up the phone and call. They let us make for first four nights and then later for the other three.

As for the tender in Cabo they took a few non tour people from the very beginning. We went down at 10:30 and got right on with no wait and no ticket needed.

We are local so were not in any hurry to get off the ship. Our 10:45 group was called at 11:10. The first group for early flights was scheduled for 8:15 and they were called at 8:25. Once off the ship the line moved fairly fast and getting the luggage was easy as was well organized by your tag color.

The weather wasn't great but the oly really bad was in P.V. with a afternoon shower. Some days at sea there was lots of wind. Soaked up some sun but not as much as would have liked. Quacker Don
