Cherry blossom in japan

i am sailing on golden princess out of Singapore on April 9th 2018. Can anyone tell me if I will be able to view cherry blossom during the Japan part of the cruise. I know it will be late in April but what about the late blooming cherry blossom? I'm no horticulturist!

It all depends on where the ship stops and if you are coming in a few days before the cruise or staying on afterwards.

I was there on land 2 years ago in April and saw them in the mountain town of Takayama. Here's an article about where they bloom and when :

We spent a month in Japan last spring and then did a cruise from Tokyo back to Vancouver. You never know when the trees will bloom. It varies year to year, but usually the season varies only within a few days. You have to check Japanese websites to find out the dates of the blooms from year to year. We say stunning flowering all throughout April especially in Kyoto. We spent hours researching where to go and tried to follow their blooming path.
