Griff61 Posted December 5, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2017 Just wondering if anyone has ever set up any type of sun shade on an Aft Balcony? My wife and I love the heat and sun but the wife doesn't like to get tanned ( Asian). She will usually were long pants and long sleeve. jayscore Posted December 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2017 Being an "aft rat", I have to be honest in telling you there is little shade during the day. You will learn when it's shadier at certain times. Some people love aft, aft wraps, and Vista Suites, some hate them. Our first two cruises were inside, you can guess where the rest were located! ;)
bury me at sea Posted December 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2017 We found the aft-extended balconies on the highest deck, directly under the Lido deck, provide partial shade a good part of the day. Lido extends somewhat beyond the balcony. Very occasionally you might hear a bit of noise from above but it was not a bother. Happy sailing. Alaskan Joe Posted December 5, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2017 We have never been interested in the AFT balcony until we were going on our Alaskan cruise. I thought it would be cool:cool: to be able to see both sides of the inside passage way, at the same time (a panoramic view:D). However, the jury is still out since this cruise is not until Aug 18' aboard the Splendor.
