Ok, this may be a dumb question but I'm going with it anyway.....

We are going on the Getaway on Sunday with a 10 and 8 year old. I was thinking getting them OBC to use for the things they want to get (arcade, shop, etc) may be a good idea so I don't have to keep a ton of cash for them to lose ;).

Has anyone done this with their kids and how has it worked with your kids if so.......

First off, other than the casino, the ship is cashless. So, anything they purchase, including arcade games, is charged to their cabin card. You can put a limit on what they each can spend on their card. I would recommend it.

Thank you! This is only our second cruise and the first with the kids so I'm kind of at ground zero with cruising with kids. If it was up to my son he would be in that arcade all day and night charging up all that he could. :)

I've read horrors stories of kids spending hundreds of dollars the first day.

1. I agree with setting up limits on his card - can be done at Guest Services. Give him whatever you're comfortable with and let him know his limits - when it's gone it's gone!

2. Sign him up for the kids' club - they usually have computer and video games that are open for free play sometimes. May help with the gaming budget! I've also seen Wii games on the big screens occasionally - keep an eye out in the dailies!
