Dining room seating - "group booking"

Recommended Posts

Hello, we are planning a cruise next spring on Adventure of the Seas. So far there are 13 of us and they gave us a "group" booking (or something like that). My questions is this, will they seat us together or can we request to seat apart? Yes, these are all friends of mine, but I can have dinner with them anytime I want. I think it's half the enjoyment of the cruise to meet other people at dinner and talk and get to know them. The families traveling together would like to eat together, but they are split up in the cabins (all the kids 16-19) are in a cabin next to one of the parents. So is it possible to not be seated with our group but have the families together?

Thanks,

I would tell your TA or RCCL what you want to do. They should be able to accomplish that. As soon as you board, go to the dining room and check out your table assignments. If they are not as you wish, talk to the maitre 'd and he/she should be able to switch things around to your satisfaction.

That said, we cruised with friends a couple of years ago. We all went our separate ways during the days but enjoyed dining together and telling each other of the things we did or did not enjoy about our day.

We were a group of 27 last APril and a month before we sailed the TA sent us paperwork to indicate how we wanted to be seated. the options were not together, together or something called round robin which is switching among the tables... this option required that everyone pre pay their tips... we opted for together 3 large tables..... 1 for the kids and 2 for adults. It was fun to go our spearate ways during the day but get together over dinner and discuss what we did...

Howdy Rob!

All of my cruises except two were group cruises. I agree with Beth re getting together during dinner with the other group members. It was great sharing the good and the bad.
