For goodness sake, give it a rest. Everybody knows you were unhappy with your cabin selection.Garry

Control yourself... all of us must share this burden. Tis the season and all that... it's not the rocking motion that is affecting us here..;)

I tried the band that gives you a little jolt of electricity...and please let me tell you it was not worth the $99 I paid. I was seasick a few times on that cruise. I have been using sea bands forever and I will sware by them. There is a lot of evidence that accupressure can help with sea sickness. The trick is to have them on before you ever get on the ship..because once you are sick they don't work. Another trick is to apply pressure with your tongue to the roof of your mouth. Most of us do that without even realizing it when we are queasy.

I have been on 13 cruises and have only been sick once...felt kind of icky twice, and most of the time just fine. The worst was on the RCCL Norway where it was rolling so much that we were all getting dressed( make-up etc) in the hall because going into the cabin was instant sick...Everything came out of the closet and all the drawers opened up...the diningroom was pretty empty that night...We got a shot slept most of the night..got up for our first port..walked through the terminal, turned around, went back to bed until dinner that night. Hmm that was also the cruise where my husband slipped playing basketball and turned his ankle....The next day we were were walking on deck, he was limping, the deck was a little wet and he almost slipped...he caught me in the mouth with his fist as he tried to catch himself...I couldn't eat for 2 days LOL...

You're right. I'll try to be more patient but sometimes... sigh.Doh.gif

I think the relief bands work great. They are the one thing that will make you feel better after you get sick. And you don't have to worry about drinking with it either. My daughter and I have even used it after surgery when we felt queasy and it helped then also. Just start it out on about 2 and turn it up when you're on the tenders, etc. And make sure you have enough of the gel on also.

That last reply was maent for ArizonaCruiser. I love riccola lemon mint lozenges. I think they may have worked so well for you, because they contain ginger. I think all of the flavors have ginger in them. but the regular flavor tastes the most gingery. Mystery sloved.

O.K. folks here is one that most of you will not believe, but over a half century ago when I was stationed aboard ships without stabelizers the first day at sea we had greasy porkchops for breakfast. Must have lined our stomachs because very few if any of the ships company were seasick. Why it seemed to work I have no idea. Happy Cruising to all. Marvin

I take a couple of medications that already cause drowsiness so anything that comes from the drugstore is not for me:rolleyes:

When cruising the Dream in 2003 (winter) we had 24 hours or so of 24 ft seas with 28 ft swells. The weird part was I was just a little sicky in the dining room. When we were back in our room (we had 1110 owner's suite, midship, perfect placement of cabin for this kind of weather) we were both fine.

The crew was really busy all night and part of the next morning;) but they too were suffering (a lot of them anyway).

Crew swore by green apples to help them with seasickness and always keeping something in your stomach.

I tried the bonine the first day of the cruise. Took it around the time we boarded. Well we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us on the balcony, then we went to the CC part at the aft bar between muster and dinner. Then we had wine with dinner. Then DH hit the casino and I went to Michaels club to listen to the soothing piano music. Big easy chair, soothing piano music, DH coming any minute when he finishes in casino, you get the picture, ......Next thing I know, one of the bar waiters is saying to me...."Mam, we're closing for the night , mam". DH had gotten carried away in the casino, and had forgotten where I told hime to come get me.

Bonine, with wine, just makes me too sleepy. So I was very interested in what the Myth Busters "discovered" I think I have to try the Riccolas from the get go next time or maybe the candied ginger. You can get candied ginger in the spice isle at Safeway.

The only two times I got sick is when I took Bonine and the other time I used a patch. When I stopped using them I felt fine. The last 3 cruises I felt fine taking nothing. We even had 30-35 ft waves for half a day and it was OK. Yes, I do get car sick, can't go on any ride with motion, and get sick in simulators.
