Question about an F-1 Visa

My daughter has a friend who is an international student studying in the USA. Her F-1 visa has expired and she cannot renew it until she goes back home for the summer. Would she be able to go on a Caribbean cruise with us? I know the F-1 is required to get into the US.

It must be unexpired for her to travel. They will not allow her to board as anyone with a F-1 visa must show the applicable paperwork. As posted above check with CPB/immigration as they may give her an extension.
