Safe, Inexpensive Place to Park in Jacksonville

Either Google isn't all that helpful, or there just isn't a lot of places to park around JaxPort. Anybody got a place that they use that they would recommend, other than the terminal?

Many cruise ports are in or near metropolitan areas ... some IN downtown areas of major cities

 

the JAX port is out in the boonies!

If I were planning to sail from JAX, I'd park at the port . . .

I always had used JaxPark, but appears they have been bought/sold and is now WallyPark. For a Sat-Sat cruise parking is less than $50, and it is about a 12-15 minute ride.

Park at the port. You’re a couple hundred yards away from the ship and it’s extremely easy in and out.

I would just park at the port. Easy in and easy out.

I just reserved a spot at the Parking Mall on Zoo Parkway, which is right across the street from the port entrance. 9.50/day vs. $17.00 at the port made it an easy decision.

Besides, last time we parked at a lot outside the port and shuttled in, we were ready to check on about 20 minutes before the rest of my family who parked at the port. Why? Because we were dropped off, whereas the rest of my family had to wait at the ticket booth until more previous cruisers left and the port was ready for new arrivals to park.

There are rental places at the airport not too far away, but none at or around the port.
