lovestocruise19 Posted January 15, 2018 Author #52 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Tuesday, January 9, 2018 - Jamaica I woke up and got a couple cinnamon buns and juice from Lido. DH and I left the ship around 9:45 a.m. to check in for our excursion. The excursion was a short ride away from the port (about 20 minutes) at a place called Yaaman Adventure Park. Our excursion was called Wet and Dirty Dune Buggy and boy they weren't lying! We got so muddy! We bought this picture at the end of the excursion (for $22 on CD. You could get all images for $60, but we just got one). I think this one says it all!
lovestocruise19 Posted January 15, 2018 Author #53 Share Posted January 15, 2018 (edited) We got back to the port around 1 p.m. and DH bought a hat and a wooden sign that says "Happy Wife, Happy Life." I bought a pair of earrings. Once back on the ship, we took showers and washed our sneakers in the shower. We put them on the balcony in hopes that they would dry. Mine dried okay, but my husband's were a lost cause. He ended up throwing them away. We actually threw away our clothes as well since we figured there was no way that Jamaican clay mud was going to wash out. Daytime towel animal: We ate lunch on Lido. DH had a burger and I had turkey wrap from the deli. Edited January 15, 2018 by lovestocruise19 spelling mistake
lovestocruise19 Posted January 15, 2018 Author #54 Share Posted January 15, 2018 We went back to the room and watched TV and DH napped. I watched us pull away from the pier in Jamaica from our balcony. While DH was napping, I went to Pixels to see our elegant night photos a little larger than you can see them on your phone with the Hub app. I got a digital photo and a print of the elegant night photo. The print gets delivered to your room the next day. It is really cool that they have the digital option on the Vista. I checked the menu for that night on the Hub app and they didn't have anything very appetizing so DH and I went to Lido instead. Food on Lido wasn't that great either. lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #55 Share Posted January 16, 2018 After supper, I saw the towel animal elephant mascot and I just had to have a picture with him! DH called me a little kid. We wandered around a little bit and heard the string trio in the lobby play an Ed Sheeran song. We also saw Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head near the shops taking pictures with people. We then made our way to the comedy club to see the other comedian, Thomas Brown. lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #56 Share Posted January 16, 2018 After the comedy show, we went back to our room. I then went to the White Night Party by myself since I specifically bought a white dress for the occasion because I read on these boards that Matt does a White Night Party. I watched from Deck 4. The people on Deck 3 got glow sticks. I took a few photos and videos of the party. I will post the videos at the end. I stayed for half of it and then went back to the room. DH had gotten pizza. He said he asked for a slice and they gave him the whole pie. I know people have complained about the Vista atrium not being as "impressive" as the other ship atriums, but I really liked the "funnel" thing (whatever they call it). It changed designs frequently, so it was always fun to see what it looked like. They have a smaller one in the casino bar, too.
lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #57 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Wednesday, January 10, 2018: Grand Cayman I filled out a room service breakfast tag the night before so we'd have a wake up call for our early excursion in Grand Cayman. I checked off between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on the tag and she came at 6:57 a.m. Scared the crap out of me! But I suppose it did the trick of a wake up call and I didn't have to fight through the masses on Lido for breakfast. Our excursion ticket said to meet at 8:15 a.m. in the Reflections Restaurant. We got there a little after 8 a.m. and waited and waited and waited. Apparently, they were running late. This makes sense since it is a tender port and you can only load the tenders so fast. Our 9 a.m. excursion didn't get started until nearly 10 a.m. Did it "ruin my cruise." Absolutely not. We were on vacation time! ;) We did the Amphibious Bus by Land and Sea Tour. There was a stop at 7-Mile Beach, which surprised me since it wasn't listed in the tour description. We were there for 45 minutes. The coolest part about the bus was when we were feeding the fish in the water. We shopped at one store before heading back to the ship. DH got a t-shirt and hat and I got a magnet. lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #62 Share Posted January 16, 2018 One cool fact I remember the tour guide saying is that Grand Cayman's waters are so blue because they don't have any mountains or rivers to cause runoff.

lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #69 Share Posted January 16, 2018 We ate lunch when we got back on the ship. DH had a burger and I had bowtie pasta with chicken and Alfredo sauce and garlic bread from the Italian restaurant which is free during lunch. We wanted to try the churned ice cream, but they ran out of butterscotch so we got cookies and cake instead. We ate our dessert in the room. I read my book and took a shower and then joined DH for a nap. I think napping is DH's favorite cruise activity! He said he swears they put melatonin in the sheets or something because the minute he hits the bed he gets sleepy. Lol! lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #71 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Grand Cayman night was the second elegant night and DH and I have an agreement that we will only go to one and not both, plus we didn't like the menu in the MDR, so we ate up on Lido again. After that we browsed the shops and I bought a little notepad with glitter pen for each of my nieces as a thank you for taking care of my cats. We walked out on the Lanai area on Deck 5 which is really nice. The Lanai area:

lovestocruise19 Posted January 16, 2018 Author #73 Share Posted January 16, 2018 (edited) We went back to the room to wait for the show Flick to start. I got a mocha chocolate getaway at the Liquid Lounge's bar before the show started. Before the show, Matt, the cruise director, helped a guy propose to his girlfriend which was so sweet. One of the male singers was pretty bad, but the show overall was pretty good. After the show, we went to Ocean Plaza and listened to the band play a few songs and watched people dance. DH got a strawberry shake from the Shake Spot. We walked around and checked out the Havana pool area which you can only go to after 7 p.m. if you don't have a Havana room. We walked around some more and I got a little bit of soft serve and DH got some cookies to take back to the room.
