RotaryMike Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Does anyone know if there is a microwave oven on Anywhere on Eclipse that we could use to heat up a back/neck heating pad occasionally ? Xport Posted January 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2018 For sanitary purposes, there are no microwave ovens aboard ship for guest use... You might consider looking at the Salonpas line of "heated" medicinal patches--no microwave and no electrical connection required--to the same result... They are widely available at pharmacies [including Walgreen's and CVS] as well as Walmart...
Kartgv Posted January 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2018 There have been several threads on this topic lately - lots of back/neck problems! We solved the problem with an old fashioned hot water bottle - available on Amazon or probably your local pharmacy. The tap water in the room is often hot enough, if not order a pot of hot water from room service. You can also use the bag as an ice bag if necessary. The Salonpas or lidocaine patches work, but they can get expensive over the long term.
Rare chemmo Posted January 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Also suggest a hot water bottle and requesting a kettle in your room. This kettle can also be helpful if your aches and pains can be eased by an early morning cuppa and meds before moving.... Whilst generally kettles aren’t available in rooms your room attendant or butler should be able to find one for you. If your need is severe you could request a kettle pre cruise from special needs as you would make any other medical request. This would then give you priority over guests requesting kettles just for an in room cuppa! Remember you can also request mattress toppers and whilst a ‘pillow menu’ is generally limited to higher category rooms if you have a medical need your room attendant will really will do their best for you. Again you can make this request pre cruise. Have a great cruise!
