New Years Eve on the Breakaway

What is News Years Eve like on a Norwegian Cruise? My husband and I went on a Holland America cruise over NYE a few years ago and they had a big celebration in the theater on formal night. Is there something similar? Dress up?

I was on Escape for NYE a few weeks ago and every venue had something going on for the countdown. Very festive, ship decorated, hats passed out to everyone. Biggest party was at Spice H2O hosted by the cruise director and the captain came out for the countdown.

Dressing up is optional but many people do.

O'Sheehans had a prime rib special and the Garden Cafe had a seafood buffet.

Every bar/nightclub had some type of music.

NYE on board is lots of fun. Enjoy!

We haven't sailed HAL but hear it is an older crowd. Was everyone asleep by 9 on NYE?

I didn’t think it was an older crowd. I will say that there weren’t as many kids as in my Carnival Cruise. But I didn’t feel out of place being a newlywed couple in our late 20s.
