Taxis and Uber no problem.

Big problem with Uber - it doesn't operate here! Might do by later this year, various legal changes are being looked at re: ridesharing.

direct train from airport to port

This would be SkyTrain, specifically the Canada Line which runs to YVR every second train. It's not quite direct - there's a few minutes walk involved from the pier, but if you can roll your own bags for a quarter mile it's consistently fastest way to get there and dirt-cheap with tickets as low as $1.85pp and at most $4.10 (depends which day and whether you're a Senior/Child or regular Adult).

If you're the only ship in port or do a self-disembarkation so are among the first people off, cab line tends to be very short so total end-to-end time is as fast or even faster than SkyTrain. A 3 ship day has and no doubt will see again cab lines extending beyond an hour (over 3 has been reported occasionally).

Booking Aerocar (local limo firm - has the exclusive airport franchise) from the pier is still cheaper than a cruiseline transfer, which should be the absolute last resort and only ever considered if you have OBC to burn.
