Casino questions

No you use your room key. It keeps track of your points. Last cruise I was on it was 1000 points and you got free drinks. Before it was all said and done I had over 10k points and I received a casino rate voucher the final night. Not as impressive as MSC though. On theirs they include port charges and tax and a balcony room. Carnival's offer was for an interior room.

Is there a amount which much be spent in the casino in order to be in the players club?

Do we need another card for playing in the casino?

No, you don't need another card. Your Sail and Sign card will automatically serve as your Player's Club card and will track your slot play (or otherwise present it if you're playing at the tables). There's no minimum for that tracking to occur. Rewards will be offered after your cruise dependent on your play, and there are no stated rules about what the reward levels are (unlike many land-based casinos).

The exception is the DOU (drinks on us) card which is awarded at 1000 points or 1500 points (Depending on the length of your cruise)

And if you earn 5000 points on your current cruise you will have the DOU card waiting for you on your next cruise.

Regarding the "free" cruise, they are awarded on a sliding scale basis. So your award is dependent upon others play on your cruise. I have seen interiors awarded at 4000 points and nothing awarded with 10000 points.

Just an FYI, slot points are one point for every $2.50 thru the machine and video poker I one point for every $5 through the machine. Table games are based on length of play and amount of bet.
