  1. I like TJ as well, he's a great CD. I need to get on an Excel class ship it sounds like. Thanks for the thoughts!
  2. Knowing you're a consistent gambler, even if you don't spend a ton, is worth something to them. If they have empty cabins close to sailing, they'd rather give those cabins away to someone they know will spend money in the casino.
  3. Happen to have a pic of the clam strip plate?
  4. That's surprising, in my experience last and final call in Miami is usually around 9:45. Maybe things move a little slower with digital debarkation (haven't experienced that yet).
  5. The stewards have a list of the guests in their cabins, they know if someone should be there or not. Whether or not they'll stop someone is another matter. They have enough going on to not make a stink unless it is an issue.

  7. Does your CC charge you foreign transaction fees for temporary holds, or just charges? I only get charged transaction fees for the actual charge, not the holds. If they only charge you for the final transaction, you'll only get one charge at the end of the cruise.
  8. Guests are not allowed in the stateroom corridors from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM, except in very few circumstances such as a B2B guest moving cabins or priority guests dropping off carry-ons. Still there are any number of people who walked past that room and saw the backpack. There is no way to say equivocally who took it.
  9. it's an app, you install it on your phone...go to the app store on your device and search for stockperks...
  10. I agree. They can't make magic happen but if you're close enough to a comp they can sometimes fudge it a little bit. It does pay to make friends.
  11. I don't know how likely it is but yes it can happen as travel agents release rooms they have on hold, folks upgrade or cancel, etc. You could try calling in to Carnival, sometimes the agents over the phone (or PVPs if you have one) can grab a room that may not be showing on the web.
  12. They will probably add an ADA lift to the pool, add wheelchair spots to some of the bars, remove a lounge for more staterooms, and repaint the hull.
  13. That's why I never tell people to gamble expecting comps on Carnival. Other than Drinks on Us at I think 1500 points, nothing else is guaranteed.
  14. They sell a ton of those Invicta watches and the inch of gold, the t-shirt sales, and things like that. Always huge lines for those events on cruises I've been on. Yeah I don't see many diamonds being sold but you have to figure they're selling enough of them or they would take out the diamonds and put in more beach bags etc.
  15. Reminds me of a shirt I've seen many times in Nassau. Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder
  16. No you can change that at any time. When you arrive at the pier they'll usually ask you to put some cash down to open your S&S account. You can just tell them then you would rather do a credit card and they can help you.
  17. It's even worse than that because a lot of drinks, like a Long Island Iced Tea, have more than 1 shot of liquor in them.
  18. only exists as an app for a smartphone or tablet...
  19. Surprised you didn't have an offer in your mailbox on the last evening for a bounceback. You will probably start getting better offers in the next few months. But as I've mentioned previously on this thread, nothing is guaranteed with Carnival casino offers.
  20. I don't know about Carnival but on other cruise lines, the shops are not operated by the cruise line. They're operated by a third party and they just lease space from the cruise line. If that's how it's done on Carnival, it makes no difference to Carnival if the goods sell or not - they are getting their lease paid either way.
  21. "beverage cabinet" I guess is a more appropriate term. We kept a bottle of sparkling wine we won in it one cruise and when we finally decided to drink it, it was tepid.
  22. I will say that when my wife and I got status with Ceasars we saw our Carnival offers kick up a notch and that was almost overnight.
  23. blowdryers are finally in every cabin, fleetwide, as of a few years ago! Same thing with mini fridges. "shower gel" is in the shower - is that the same thing as body wash? If you would say yes, then enjoy! 😉 FWIW I use it with no qualms but my wife packs her own preferred products.
  24. It was offered this past Labor Day on the Magic. As mentioned it's up to the cruise director. Some may not want to emcee an event that can turn so "blue". On the Magic it was strictly adults only - more strictly enforced than the adults comedy. I think they actually had security out front scanning cards (I did not attend).
  25. McDonald's in NC - McDouble $3.19 (was $1.19 not even 3 years ago), fries free in the app.
