  1. I see. I don't know in that case.
  2. I can't believe it's already time for another two minutes' hate for people who don't add extra tip to their receipts.
  3. If they're doing that when the buffet is closed, imagine what they're doing when it's open...blech...some people will devolve to apes for a tray of Freezer Queen quality food as long as it's free and unlimited. They say we are 9 missed meals from anarchy - on Carnival, it's more like 9 minutes.
  4. I agree, it is sad and horrifying when I think that I was right there with them not long ago (gorging myself endlessly, eating just to eat). I'm more aware now.
  5. The beauty of a pooled system like the Cheers gratuities is all bartenders share in that tip so yes the amount of gratuity that individual bartender got for making your drink is quite small, but they got the same percentage from everyone else onboard who bought Cheers so it all comes out in the wash.
  6. Your normal keyboard doesn't have a USB dongle, it only works over Bluetooth? Mine too. It's maddening when I have to boot into BIOS and find ye olde wired keyboard. I ended up switching to a keyboard and mouse that used a USB dongle - as far as BIOS knows, they're wired peripherals.
  7. True, but they still get their share of the pool.
  8. Pretty sure it's only a thing for US cruises. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/vacation-protection talks about coverage etc.
  9. Yes, the breakfast at Cantina is great for sure. Buffet is not in my experience.
  10. The lunch and dinner buffets aren't bad, the breakfast though is disgusting and it's not just me saying that. Cut up hot dogs passed off as sausage swimming in water, watery green "scrambled egg" food product, ham steaks that are simultaneously burnt and cold, boiled eggs that could be used as cue balls, gummy raw english muffins used for the benedicts. I could go on.
  11. You won't be able to check them in at T-16 unless they are Platinum.
  12. Drinks purchased under a beverage program have an automatic gratuity attached to them as well.
  13. They better not get rid of the sit down breakfast or brunch. It's nothing special anymore but the food at the breakfast buffet is absolutely disgusting.
  14. You'll have to do your own research, there isn't an alternative that I am aware of. You can ask on Cruise Critic under the specific port of call forum for advice.
  15. It's an adults only game that can get rather raunchy.
  16. Obviously you want to hear that they expect more tips, so just give them more. No skin off my nose...
  17. They look at the receipt because if there is an extra tip they have to put it in the computer.
  18. I am just going by what JH says when he says that extra tips above and beyond automatic gratuities are not expected. He has been a Carnival employee for over 30 years, so he would know. People who have worked for tips know not to take it personally.
  19. Theoretically, if you link with Plaid then there is no need to verify - they can get the information directly from your broker.
  20. They do not expect extra tips above and beyond the automatic gratuity. Any extra you give is entirely up to you and is not expected.
  21. Did they build the Venezia with Quest in mind?
  22. You are tipping, it's just automatically added to the bill. If you want to tip more that's up to you but it's not necessary or expected.
  23. That's why I send folks there when they get upset with me for criticizing Carnival. If you want nonstop saccharine plaudits, there's your place.
  24. Glad it worked well for you. The MCO reserve appointments really make that airport a breeze. Hope you had a good cruise!
