  1. Carnival does not allow kettles in staterooms. You can request a carafe of hot water from room service. I believe there is a charge for it outside of breakfast hours. You can also ask the crew or manager if they can check the temperature of the hot water dispensers on Lido - maybe they need adjustment.
  2. Carnival is never going to build another Spirit class ship. If Costa has any let they may transfer another one but there will never be another one built, at least not for Carnival.
  3. Yeah I am not a fan either. I'm not big on pasta to begin with though.
  4. Carnival is not the one cleaning up the harbor, so they don't control the timeframe. What would you like them to tell you?
  5. He is playing to his audience. He knows his audience is a lot of seasoned cruisers that likes smaller ships. He's driving engagement. The economy of scale just isn't there. A Spirit class ship holds a third as many guests as a new Excel class. You'd think it would only take a third as many crew, but no - closer to half. And it won't be a third the price to build.
  6. I usually order old fashioneds, manhattans, Jack & diet pepsi, things like that. Yes the casino bar menu is limited but as long as they have the ingredients they can make almost anything.
  7. Exactly. I've never been told to fill out that form when I had a PVP or TA. They have always taken care of it for me on the spot.
  8. Yeah you really don't want to own $CCL these days except for the shareholder OBC. But at the same time if you invest that $1423 (the cost to buy 100 shares as of this instant) in a stock that is actually performing, you may get a better rate of return. Depending on the stock and depending on how much you cruise. Remember that casino rates are not eligible for the OBC anymore. The Shareholder benefit paperwork says any discounted rate is not eligible, so really it's a matter of time before they further clamp down on rates that are eligible. Caveat emptor.
  9. This won't help your current situation but I have always called my PVP (or for the last several years, my TA) to get price adjustments taken care of immediately.
  10. People don't read anything. Doesn't matter how much signage they put up.
  11. As I explained in post #15 I am sticking to Carnival's policies and procedures here to avoid making the topic unnecessarily complicated. There's plenty of information on the web for wifi calling outside of Carnival cruises.
  12. My next cruise I'll organize an LRC session but instead of money we'll play with the next best thing: bacon.
  13. As soon as Carnival calculates an acceptable rake, LRC will return as a cruise director-led activity like Deal or No Deal.
  14. They may not do it anymore but they used to do "Cozumel Plus" before COVID where they'd stay late into the night. And often with ABC itineraries, you'll stay until 10PM at one of the islands. With mine it was Curacao and that island is beautiful at night.
  15. There's lots on info on this board about $CCL and the shareholder benefit. Do a search on the forum and you'll find it.
  16. They are tightly regulated in fact. They wait for international waters largely to ensure they're not beholden to the rules of the individual state (many of which don't allow casino gambling).
  17. Can't help with texting, but with Skype Premium you can make phone calls to landlines over VOIP and Carnival does not block Skype. They may also allow Google Voice, I have never tried. If you subscribe to Office 365, you get 60 minutes of Skype VOIP calls every month. Google Voice is free.
  18. You can say whatever you want but words matter. It is prudent for us to use the same terminology and definitions as Carnival when we are talking about Carnival's products and procedures to avoid confusion. Again, Carnival blocks Wifi calling which is provisioned by cellular carriers. Whatsapp is not wifi calling and is therefore not blocked. Yes, you can use Whatsapp or Facetime to place audio calls but they are not carrier-provisioned wifi calling calls and you cannot use Whatsapp to call a landline phone number, which is what most people are interested in if they're asking for wifi calling. There are ways to make calls to landlines over Carnival's wifi - but that is outside of the scope of this discussion I think. No sense in muddying the waters unnecessarily.
  19. Love seeing all the Celebration dates but was hoping for at least one out of Norfolk...maybe they'll add more.
  20. I suppose it's possible that many years ago they didn't block wifi calling.
  21. You haven't done wifi calling on Carnival, at least. Other lines don't block wifi calling.
  22. WhatsApp, Facetime, etc., is not the same thing wifi calling. Carnival only blocks wifi calling.
  23. Trust me, the only reason I let them have their fun is I happened to be there during an "off" time when there was plenty of seating. Had I had even the slightest difficulty finding a table then I would have pressed the issue. But I didn't want to go finding a problem when there wasn't really one to be found. I am shameless about moving towels and hats from loungers when it's clear the stuff is just there to save a seat for an undetermined amount of time.
