  1. McDonald's in NC - McDouble $3.19 (was $1.19 not even 3 years ago), fries free in the app.
  2. The truth of the matter is at this point you'll probably be able to sustain the casino offers you are getting simply by playing with the funplay you're receiving, and very little of your own money. All your hard work has paid off - you can cruise and gamble for free now.
  3. The internet is a special place where every gambler always plays with less than they planned to, or hits that big jackpot that pays for the trip every cruise.
  4. It's a shame that Carnival's FAQ page is out of date here - yes, muscle milk is included in Cheers! It may not have been when it was first introduced but it is now! 🙂 Good to have first-hand confirmation here. Hope you are enjoying the crossing.
  5. God Bless the free state of Alabama.
  6. There is no proof the stewards stole the backpack. It could have been anyone. The stewards have very limited storage onboard, they don't steal things because it will be found and there is nothing they can steal from you that is worth their livelihood.
  7. 10 years for me but same…pretty sure I had cruises booked all through the shutdown but many were cancelled obviously. This is the first time my cruise manager comes up blank since I started cruising carnival.
  8. I doubt the PVP has the pull to have offers sent your way. Probably just their offers skew towards those that don't have any cruises booked, haven't cruised in a while, etc., to get them back onboard. You never know though. Carnival's offer roulette is a strange mistress.
  9. I absolutely do not want anyone to get hurt or even inconvenienced but I hope that Carnival has a few casino fires due to the smoking, and they ban indoor smoking as a result.
  10. My last build the PCIe SSD came DOA. Thankfully B&H was able to overnight me a brand new one. That was the first DOA part I've had in quite some time.
  11. Starlink is far cheaper and faster than anything Carnival deployed in the past. If it was more expensive, they wouldn't have rushed to update all their ships to it as quickly as they did.
  12. The reality is the cost of production has nothing to do with the price of a good or service. If it did, then WiFi on Carnival would be cheaper than it's ever been because Starlink is cheaper and faster than any previous system Carnival has ever used. Technology gets cheaper faster better over time, and Starlink is a quantum leap on that front. Carnival charges what they think their captive audience will bear. In the future there will only be one place on the surface of the earth where you have to pay daily for WiFi and you're allowed to smoke indoors - Carnival cruise ships.
  13. Do not think "if I gamble $10k away this cruise I'll get a free suite and a trip to the steakhouse" That is not guaranteed. It is possible that you'll go on this free cruise due to your land-based status match, spend $10k gambling, and not get a single offer. And you'll have nobody to appeal to because Carnival never publishes how many points or how much gambling it takes to get comps. It's all up to their hosts.
  14. The only single-serve beverage served onboard that is not included in Cheers that I am aware of is the "fresh squeezed" premium juice cocktails served at seaday brunch that are $6 or some ridiculous price.
  15. When is the last time you did that?
  16. Eventually you get tired of the kids screaming for a bubble machine or a set of ears or something, you'll pay anything to get it to stop. LOL
  17. Nowhere in a Disney gift shop do they have signs extolling the value of "tax and duty free" shopping, nor do they have shopping advisors constantly telling you how much cheaper things are onboard or in the ports of call vs. at home. Etc.
  18. The muscle milks, bottled teas, etc., are usually only carried at the coffee shop bar and usually in very limited supply.
  19. How many vacation gift shops constantly tell you how great of a deal they are because it's "tax and duty free" etc?
  20. Unlike most other cruise lines and land-based casinos, Carnival does not have a published schedule of comps. The only comp that Carnival advertises is you must accumulate I think 1500 points to get free drinks while playing. But you may already have that immediately depending upon the rate code you booked. Any comps above that - free steakhouse meals, free balcony cabins, etc., are at the discretion of the casino hosts. There is no formula. Anything that people may respond with is just speculation.
  21. https://www.carnival.com/personal-vacation-planners.aspx That may just trigger a call from your current PVP though. You may need to ask for recommendations on other sites (can't recommend them here) then call the new PVP you want to go with and ask that they take over your file.
  22. https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1152/~/carnivals-wi-fi-service The prices here are subject to change but that should give you an idea. You can buy the value or premium plans for 24 hours at a time, but Social can only be purchased for the entire cruise. Not that it matters, you'll need Value or Premium for what your daughter needs to do anyway most likely. If dorm room selection will happen while you are onshore, you may be able to find free wifi (or roam with your cellular provider) at lower cost than Carnival's wifi service.
  23. The casino would need a way to hide the rake
  24. Same - light drinker anyway, even on vacation, so I usually use the coupon for a diet pepsi.
