  1. I am pretty sure they start with $100 and increase the hold as necessary, and finally they actually charge the card at checkout.
  2. It's not supposed to happen since the Triumph, they installed backup generators on all the ships after that.
  3. One cruise may not be enough to get offers. I know for me I didn't start seeing Casino offers until I had at least a few cruises of consistent gambling. However Carnival's casino is mysterious so I'm just saying this is how it worked for me.
  4. I would go more based upon ease and expense of travel time. For example if everyone can easily drive into Jacksonville but would need to fly into Miami, I'd take a Jacksonville cruise. If everyone is going to have to fly anyway, then I'd go based upon price and ease of access. Miami is easy to get to from the airport, Canaveral is more difficult. Getting everyone together on the ship for vacation is worth more than the ship itself. My opinion.
