  1. I am just going by what their policies state. Do you have evidence that they are further restricting exceptions or are you just spreading FUD? We've had more than enough FUD about COVID over the past two plus years thank you very much.
  2. They allow up to 5% unvaccinated per sailing. But as has been mentioned, those with medically documented reasons as to why they are unvaccinated are getting most if not all the exceptions.
  3. That's good for you but a lot of people enjoy those things that were ended without an email to us. It was a surprise when we got onboard. We did not receive the courtesy of an email like those that signed up for Chef's Table got.
  4. I hope this means they'll bring some normalcy back to the other dining venues. Deli open until 11, late night snacks buffet back, pizza 24/7, etc.
  5. That is a shame, it is good that they'll be offering Cucina entrees in the MDR. That's a nice gesture. Frankly I like that they're closing Cucina rather than offer a sub-par experience.
  6. I think it's a built-in cost cutting measure. People check the Fun Times, see pizza is all that's open. Walk down and see the line, realize "I'm not that hungry" and go to bed. It's a very poor guest experience though. We're not asking for the midnight gala buffet to come back but something would be welcome.
  7. I was just on the Sunshine the last week of April and the late night snacks buffet was not offered. Instead, the pizza place (yeah that's right the place that already has an insane line) offered pastas from 11:30PM-1:30AM. If this change hasn't yet hit the Horizon I'm sure it will soon. Or perhaps Carnival was testing the change to see how well it's received on Sunshine before deploying it fleet-wide. And as has been mentioned, Mardi Gras' deli closes an hour earlier than other ships - and has never offered a late night snacks buffet. So the pizza line on that ship, that accommodates over 6000 guests at full capacity - could easily be an hour plus.
  8. However as is often said, funerals are for the living. Not the dead.
  9. My Chef's Table experience on the Ecstasy several years ago was exquisite...the folks we were dining with made the experience even more fun than it would have been otherwise. My wife and I enjoyed it, but don't really desire to do it again.
  10. The machine in the Lido buffet is the pour your own beer station. It only serves a few kinds of beer. The beers are paid by the ounce and you can't use Cheers at the station. No soda is served here. You have to go to a bar to get soda.
  11. This is how I want my remains returned to the earth. Rather than spend money on a funeral, send my family on a cruise and throw me overboard.
  12. I'm not sure why they haven't come back yet, but my wife is enjoying the $25 cash benefit in the interim...I'll be platinum soon enough and will enjoy whichever benefit I can take advantage of at that time.
  13. Included room service ends at 10PM I believe. But I love the PB&J with pretzels. I miss the shrimp salad sandwich that used to be on the menu back when it was all included 24/7.
  14. It's probably even worse these days. I've seen reports that the Deli is now closing earlier due to staffing issues, at least on some sailings. And the late night snacks buffet is going away, replaced by the pizza counter (yes, the place that has ridiculous lines) serving pastas late at night. I sorely miss the late night snacks buffet on Carnival, back when it was good - hot dogs with chili, fries, things like that. And the 24/7 room service. It's a shame they're gone.
  15. You sweet summer child. Never heard of Microsoft Word have you.
  16. Then you will have people with COVID on cruises even more than you do now.
  17. The Norfolk sailings have always been strong sellers going back years - sold for a premium compared to other ports and sold faster - wouldn't surprise me if they've sold out.
  18. Ice is available 24/7 on Lido.
  19. Suppose to open in 2024. https://www.cruisehive.com/construction-begins-on-carnival-cruise-lines-200-million-grand-bahama-port/71862
  20. You can still as long as the rate you are matching allows for price reductions. But many times the new lower rate (resident rates, casino rates, etc) do not. So once you match to one of these rates, you're off the early saver train and not eligible for further rate reductions.
  21. Indeed - "once early saver always early saver" is not true anymore.
  22. What is now known as Margaritaville at Sea does. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. I don't know if other lines do or not.
  23. The ice buckets from the stewards is a standard metal ice bucket like you'd see at a hotel or bar. Room service brings you the "bucket of beer" bucket filled with ice. You can also get ice 24/7 on your own at the Lido drink stations.
  24. I wonder what this means for the straw market, fat tuesdays, etc., at the existing Freeport terminal. I suppose they'll stay there for the non-CCL ships that will presumably continue to call there. I doubt a CCL vessel will ever call at the existing port once this one is completed. I will be in Freeport later this year and look forward to seeing it again. Frankly I have thumbed my nose at Freeport and Nassau in the past - but after 2020 and being told I can't cruise I am once again kissing their soil!
  25. I remember hearing about this before COVID but nothing since. Good news! I expect it will replace Freeport. I really doubt anything will ever replace Nassau, especially once the new terminal there gets built.
