  1. You can eat bacon every day in the dining room. And you can order a decent steak in the dining room every evening under the Steakhouse Selections menu. FWIW I've eaten the strip loin at least once every cruise since the restart (3 so far...) and some are certainly better than others - but when they're good, they're just as good as the steak that it replaced.
  2. Cut up feet are free at Princess Cays - very rocky area - please wear crocs or something in the water.
  3. So kp is it your opinion that we had a chimney fire here, similar to when creosote builds up in a homeowner's chimney? That's what it looks like to me.
  4. Just because you will be in a crowd of 85 doesn't mean you'll get COVID. If you do more than 10 days before your cruise, by CDC guidelines you are OK to go on the cruise as normal. 5 days to isolate, 5 days afterward to wear a mask, after that you are normal again. You should test negative two days before your cruise with a rapid antigen test, and if you do then I wouldn't fool with the document of recovery. Just show the negative test and enjoy.
  5. I'd imagine this is how it will work but this is somewhat uncharted territory. The good thing is since they're the same class of ship it will be easy to figure out what your new room will be in most if not all cases.
  6. I hope Carnival makes it up to y'all, as much as they can anyway.
  7. Did they replace the funnel when they Sunshined the Triumph and Victory?
  8. I assumed they were planning to use that funnel for the Magica transformation.
  9. I have been on decks where they're painting before (they close off the immediate area obviously, but they don't close off the entire deck) and the smell is very strong. I could only imagine what it smells like in an enclosed area. "If it moves, salute it. If it doesn't move, paint it."
  10. Book now with a rate that allows price drops, if the price drops then you can reprice your booking.
  11. If they're offering that much now, think of how much a lawyer can squeeze out of them. Kiss your bacon and diamond party goodbye for good if this is what it looks like.
  12. The problem is there is misinformation on here every day from people just trying to help. If you listen to it, you'll be watching the ship sail away from the pier and the staff on the pier won't care when you say "so and so on cruise critic said it would be fine". They'll point you to Carnival's site and say, them's the rules.
  13. I tend to agree - Carnival (and the industry at large) has to get back to level before they can look at expanding service.
  14. I hope that this means Norfolk gets some better itineraries and a full-time ship. Norfolk is actually an hour closer to me than Charleston, but I've never sailed out of Norfolk because those voyages were always more expensive and not offered at times I like to cruise. But a year-round ship (or ships, if the terminal can accommodate multiple) would be awesome. Otherwise it's going to be flying to Miami or Canaveral for me.
  15. The kids can't rent a car or drive can they? What are you asking? What makes you think an adult wouldn't be able to rent a car?
  16. Hate to hear this, I have cruised out of Charleston very often as it is an easy drive. I hope that Carnival can find a suitable port nearby to replace this very important homeport.
  17. cases are irrelevant - how many hospitalizations and deaths are there - the virus will continue to spread nothing will stop it - but are people getting seriously ill and dying? that is the focus, or should be.
  18. I too have noticed the ice cream mixes not being as good as before. Before the vanilla tasted just like Dairy Queen's or McDonald's soft serve, very good. Now it's nasty.
  19. Agreed - I love the Conquest class.
  20. I do like the Mio squirt bottles of flavorings. All are zero calorie/sugar/carb as far as I'm aware.
  21. Everyone thinks they're special.
  22. Same thing at Guy's too - bacon hidden below the counter. If you ask for a pig patty, it's like you know the password to get into the he-man woman hater's club or something lol.
  23. It is a shame. I'm not a big bacon eater to be honest, but I do like it from time to time. And I always seem to guess wrong when I go to Lido for breakfast if it's a "Bacon on vacation" day or not.
  24. It's still every other day, and now that folks are used to it, probably forever. Although Carnival would never admit that!
  25. This has the current fleet organized by class: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_Cruise_Line#Ships
