Kids sail free promo vs bidding vs last minute rate

There was a time when NCL offered kids sail free promos and last minute deals. It seems as though the bidding style of auctioning off cabins has eliminated any chance of these type of deals. Is that pretty much correct?

 

There was a time when I could sail in the Haven for less then half the price of the going rate. We did the 2 bedroom Haven suites on Epic and Escape. These days when I price it out its more then double what we paid. Is this because of the bidding process also?

The extra person sails free deal still pops up all the time. We've done it on our last 2 cruises, including ours coming up in May. That hasn't changed with the bidding. If anything, it appears much more often than it used to.

We booked 3 and 4th passenger sail free for Bermuda on Black Friday. They actually offered all the promotions if you booked black Friday.
