jkneern Posted February 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Sailing out of San Juan and need a place to stay the night prior. Any suggestions??
pjhootch Posted February 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2018 The Sheraton Old San Juan is a great place pre or post cruise. You can throw a rock from the hotel to the pier. Ask for a room facing the pier and you can see your ship arrive if you get up early enough.
Miss Picante Posted February 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2018 When we were there a few weeks ago, we stayed at La Concha in the Condado area and thought it was great. There is a lot happening in that part of town and the beach is very nice. Downtown, we stopped for a drink at El Convento, which has excellent reviews on trip advisor. We did not see the rooms, but the patio area and bar were charming. If you want to be in Old San Juan and don’t care about a beach experience, this might be a good choice. On earlier trips, we stayed at the Doubletree in Isla Verde. It, too, has good reviews and was very pleasant with a good included breakfast, but it is not on the beach and you need a cab to get to Old San Juan. michiganredrose Posted February 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2018 The first time we went we stayed at le consulat in condado. It was nice and reasonably priced. The second time we stayed at Sheraton old San Juan (got a good price through Hotwire), could not have been more convenient and it was nice too. The Problem with El Convento is That Pre/Post Cruise Dates is that it is nearly Impossible to get a room, I finaly was able to make a Reservation Post a Disney Cruise that arrived in San Juan on a Monday and it was 420.00 a night and that is a year from now..Being trying for years with no success. If you really want to stay there I would recommend a land Vacation Good Luck Mike
Rare georgiacat Posted February 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2018 We stayed at Holiday Inn Express for one day post cruise. We booked last minute and were very pleased with hotel, price, and location. You could walk to beach, food, and if you are in good shape maybe Old San Juan (we did not try). Katie62 Posted February 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Sheraton Old San Juan is always our choice with a room/balcony facing the pier and cruise port. So convenient to everything in Old San Juan. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
txskier Posted February 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2018 We have stayed at the El Convento and really liked the hotel and the location. The website was wanting 2 night minimum. We were wanting 1 night for two rooms so I called the hotel and they agreed to book two rooms for one night. You might try calling direct thanks

Talex831 Posted February 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2018 The Sheraton Old San Juan is a great place pre or post cruise. You can throw a rock from the hotel to the pier. Ask for a room facing the pier and you can see your ship arrive if you get up early enough. Depends on if your ship is sailing from OSJ or the Pan American pier. KatPem Posted February 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 18, 2018 We really like staying in the Condado and/or Old San Juan areas. We are cheap and would rather spend our money on the rest of the vacations, so we avoid the resorts. In OSJ, Hotel Casablanca is our favorite and Le Consulate in Condado. There are many great hotels in both places!
nicoleskr Posted February 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2018 If anyone is still looking, I'd highly recommend Decanter Hotel in OSJ. The staff is really great, and our room was really, really nice!
60andhappy Posted February 19, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 19, 2018 We just returned from the Sheraton OSJ and loved the hotel and it's location in the old city near the pier. The view from the 9th floor pool area is fantastic.

one.new.island.a.year Posted February 21, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I love the intercontinental for a beachfront resort-style room. I’ve also stayed at the Sheraton. My upcoming trip will be at the Doubletree. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

cruisnuts Posted February 23, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 23, 2018 If you are sailing out of Pan American Pier Hyatt House or Hyatt Place are excellent choices. These are less than a mile to the pier. Sent from my iPad using Forums
