Depends on where you're coming from, but I hate driving in the city, so I'd say it's easier.

As far as safety - we

ve never had a problem, but anythime you leave your car, you're taking a chance. I'd rather take that chance at the ferry than in NYC.

 

We'd be coming down from Albany....so would it be easier? Which ferry would it be that would bring us closest to the NY port? Sorry if you answered this but how much would a taxi cost from the ferry stop to the port? Also, I just checked the parking for the 21st and it shows as "sold out"...
