Yes, if you purchase the internet the first (or second?) day of the cruise you get 10 to 40 extra minutes depending on the size of the package you buy. If you buy the package before getting on the ship, you get a second 10 to 40 minutes.

Each package on line shows the amount of time you are purchasing + a number of "bonus minutes." If you purchase on board on the first day, you get the time you pay for + half the number of "bonus minutes." If you buy later, you get no bonus minutes. SO, you get the best deal by purchasing on line in advance.

The charge to buy on board is the same, but you get fewer or no bonus minutes...so the effective cost per minute is more. They usually offer a last day special of a very small number of minutes at a reduced rate designed for people who want to do an airline check in.

An example--the biggest package is 600 minutes for $199. Purchased in advance, you get 80 bonus minutes, so 680 for $199

On board day 1, you get 600 minutes for $199 plus 40 bonus minutes, so 640 for $199

On board later in the cruise, you get the 600 minutes only, so 600 for $199.
