AussieCruiser2332 Posted March 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2018 Does everyone in the stateroom need to purchase the soda package or can we just purchase for the kids? Thanks.

I am interested in this answer also... I wanted to get it for me as I seldom drink alcohol but like soda but don't want to get it for my husband who never drinks soda.. jdvmd Posted March 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 6, 2018 With the soda package, do you actually get cans? I thought it was fountain drinks.
don't-use-real-name Posted March 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 6, 2018 With the soda package, do you actually get cans? I thought it was fountain drinks. No Cans - the soda package is a fountain soda package. The cans in the mini-fridge do not count - not part of package deal - do not confuse. Some fountain drinks are only in cans - I believe Ginger Ale is one. The bar tender will pop open the can and serve. My understanding is the bar tender is not suppose to give the cans to the customer - "BUT" a favorable tip may change that policy. Other readers - your experiences ? Crzy4my2 Posted March 6, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 6, 2018 No, everyone does not have to get the soda package.. I drink water(even the water they provide in a glass :)) and I got my DH, DD and DS the soda package and nothing for me. My DH doesn't really drink and didn't want the UBP/UDP and figured if he wanted a beer we would just pay for it.. It worked out though because when we got on the ship, waiting in our room with our casino cards( I'm Pearl) we had drink cards attached.. This was only my 2nd cruise with NCL so I wasn't expecting the drink card for the casino

rtkenmore Posted March 6, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 6, 2018 new to cruising.... how did you get the casino cards? Is there somewhere in the casino to sign up for players card? You can sign up onboard and they track your play there. Another way to get the casino drink comp card is if you book through Casinos at Sea with any type of cross benefit deal, i.e. Total Rewrads/Caesars, etc. I just booked Encore today through CAS in order to claim my 20% discount and was reminded that I would have the drink comp card in my room. Doesn't really matter to me though because we choose the UBP anyway in order to have drinks at the shows, dinner, pool, everywhere else...
