Bus to Tarquinia.

Hi,can anyone let me know the location of the bus stop for Tarquinia.I will be in Civitavecchia in April.Last time we were there it had changed and the tobacconist where we got tickets no longer sold them.Thanks.

When you leave the cruise shuttle drop off area, there is a bus stop near the crossroads. Not sure of exact location, but any of the locals could probably point it out if you ask for Cotral Tarquinia. Both times that we took the bus, we walked into town (10-20 mins depending on pace) and hopped on the bus from the stop across the street from the Cathedral. We had enough time to pop in and check out the cathedral before our bus arrived.

 

I assume you know to pick up bus tickets in advance from one of the Tabacchi/newspaper shops. I mention this because there were people who arrived at the stop and then missed the bus because they didn’t have tickets and were delayed buying them. There is a shop not far from the shuttle drop off area as you head into town on the main drag, and another one near the cathedral stop. Buy R/T tickets and you’re good to go.

 

We loved Tarquinia ... have fun.

There is a stop closer to Largo della Pace on Via XIV Settembre/SS1, just north of Via Cardona.

I was excited to visit Tarquinia. Had it all planned out. Then discovered it is closed on Mondays.

We plan to visit Tarquinia and Toscania on the 25th April 2018, which is Liberation Day, a public holiday.

 

Does anyone think it will be easy enough to visit there by public transport, as planned, or should we play it safe and just stay around Civitevecchia as we have been to Rome a few times. We feel public transport may be more limited than usual.
