rachel_ray323 Posted March 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Wondering if anyone has taken this snorkeling tour recently? Looking for recommendations on half-day or full-day tour. What was the snorkeling like? Did you make all the stops as advertised? Haven’t been to St Maarten before and am not sure about what to book! iluvthe-c Posted April 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2018 We did the 1/2 day Billy Bones excursion in March. It was FAB-U-LOUS! We had Captain Curt. There were 7 in our group plus another couple. The snorkeling at Creole Rock was the highlight, but the whole trip was wonderful. We did see everything that was in the description. Had beer and rum punch but no snacks. Was great to be out on the beautiful water of St Maarten. The devastation to the island is sad. We shopped outside of the pier area very close to where we docked after the excursion. Highly recommend this!
FirstAnthem Posted April 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Wondering if there are several boats snorkeling at once in the same spot? I read they limit the passengers on the Billy Bones tour, but if many boats of limited passengers are in the same spot it means for crowded water. We just did a snorkeling excursion in Mexico and there were about 100 people in a small area and it was not a great experience. Thanks for any input! iluvthe-c Posted April 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2018 There were 3 other small boats at Creole Rock when we first got there. Each boat had about the same # of snorkelers as we did - so about 30 other people is all. Did not seem crowded and they all trickled out of there soon after we arrived.
