julie4227 Posted March 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Hi all! Just wondering if Celebrity displays it's time local vs keeping the time the same through out the sailing
Karynanne Posted March 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2018 If the ship is traveling through time zones, you’ll be advised to adjust your watches. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Gonzo70 Posted March 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Celebrity usually, but not always, changes ship time to match port time if there is a discrepancy. Sometimes however they do not and there may be an hour difference between port time versus ship time. It is at the discretion of the Captain and it will be well announced the evening before if there is a time change and/or if port time and ship time will be an hour discrepant - but no way to find out for sure in adavance what will occur. RAYSWIN Posted March 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2018 The Captain decides whether the ship's time will change to the port time. Sent from my Pixel XL using Forums mobile app
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2018 As mentioned in most cases they adjust to local time versus say Carnival which rarely does. You will be advised on board. Keith
varoo Posted March 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2018 This is why we set wake-up calls on the ship's telephone rather than on our own phone. The ship's phone will always wake us up on ship time, unlike our own phone which may be an hour earlier or later. But they typically do notify passengers when they are changing time zones, in Celebrity Today as well as on the TV.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2018 We just reads the daily program and set the time accordingly. Keith
upwarduk Posted March 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2018 The only time the ship DIDN'T change to port time was in Aruba, but Aruba have the same time all year, they don’t put clocks forward / back. Brisbane/ Queensland don’t either, so I suspect it’s something to do with local customs. Not easy at this time of year, when clocks are changed at different dates in March. U.K is always the last Sunday in March, I believe the Canada / U.S have already put their clocks forward. Varoo’s idea of using the ship’s telephone to set the alarm is excellent though. Tiggertastic Posted March 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Most of our cruises have changed timezones, the only one we didn’t was Honduras and we had to remember to stay here n ship time. I always check the cabin phone to be sure Sent from my iPad using Forums
