Just back from silhouette, observations.

Just got home after extending vacation at St Augustine for a few days.

My FWIW after first X cruise.

Beautiful ship.

Friendly crew- officers extremely so, especially Nina.

Loved the Passport Bar with music in the atrium by Dallas Bridges and The Jazz Walkers before dinner each night.

Speaking of dinner, we were stuck in the back left corner on deck 3. Maybe 30 people - kind of felt like the kid's table at Thanksgiving. Service not particularly good. Food quality was decent (beef dishes good to very good) but quantity was a little silly - especially when they used those huge plates. Ordered eggs benedict one morning and it looked like 2 little eyeballs on a Charlie brown head. A little bacon and you had a smiley face.

Ate at Mast Grill for lunch once - not at all impressed. Room service for 1 breakfast and 1 lunch - both better than expected. Ordered online from cabin and got a confirmation call within 5 minutes both times

Bar service was generally OK with our waiter Hector upping it a bit in Passport which earned him a little extra at week's end. Casino bar guys were good and much friendlier than the slots.

Both embarkation and disembarkation went very well, helped by getting a handicapped parking spot due to my knee surgery. :)

Overall, though, this was the most relaxing cruise we've been on so far. We booked a Sept, 2019, Iberian on Reflection while onboard.

One comment on our cabin. I've seen several negative comments about the storage over the bed. We found this to be fantastic. We're of average height and had no problems reaching it. We took 2 storage squares to test with and intend to take at least 4 on Reflection in 9/19.

We didn't go to any shows but found the music of Dallas Bridges and The Jazz Walkers to be very relaxing and appropriate for the general clientele. BTW, the Hideaway makes a great venue for the atrium music.

Unless you dine in fine restaurants with friends every night for 7-21 nights, no breaks, that analogy doesn't fit. We've also spent 2 hours or more dining, but like once a month, maybe. Not every night.

For some reason we had a table for two this cruise. That meant we were served quicker than larger groups. For the best of both worlds we had another twosome next to us from Canada to chat with.

That would annoy me too! In fact, on the couple occasions we’ve experienced this sort of lag, we’ve left, waving bye-bye to the waiters. I’d seek different wait staff the subsequent nights too. This would be no great sacrifice for us, by the way, because we’d rather have coffee in Cafe al Bacio anyway. As for dessert, I’m not a gooey dessert person (yes, I’m that person who can’t resist the bread and any savory starters on offer) and DH usually prefers the offerings at Cafe al Bacio.

We skipped dessert in the MDR a couple of times because nothing jumped out as interesting. Instead, we went to Cafe al Bacio and were never disappointed.

Texed - We were on the same cruise and tried to meet you. You were not at the meet and greet.

Interesting there were maybe a dozen passengers at the meet and greet on Silhouette last week and 100 on Eclipse today.

Is there any way to meet a fellow cruise critic member other than at the meet and greet?

Cruise Critic does not appear to allow private messages like Facebook.

I was hoping for more folks at the meet & greet as well. Seemed like some folks may not have realized when and where it was - it was posted on the bulletin board at guest svcs when we boarded.
